Abadeh County is located in the north of Fars province. In terms of climate is among the cold and temperate counties of province; and due to the geological position such as having the diverse mountain and plain regions and in terms of biodiversity of regional plant species is considered valuable.
The purpose of this study is identifying some of important medicinal plants which are widely used by the local residents for treatment of diseases in Abadeh County. For this purpose, at first by studying the topographic and geographical maps of region, the field operations and asking from aware people, the data were recorded; then the considered plants were gathered and transmitted to herbarium for specification.
By using herbarium and existing plants, the plants were specified and it was determined that they are medicinal. In the mentioned county, 31 medical prevail species grow belong to 12 families and 25 genus.
The number of medicinal species of Lamiaceae family is 8 species, Asteraceae family is 6 species, Brassiceae family is 5 species that respectively were the most medicinal species of medicinal plants in the considered regional.
Regarding distribution of species based on the plant genus, the genus of Sinapis has 3 species; each of the genus of Teucrium, Amygdalus, Pistacia، Nepeta has two species; and the other genus only has one medicinal species in the county.
The diseases that are treatable with the medicinal plants in this regional including the problem of digestive system, respiratory and circulatory as well as infectious diseases.
